A vendor at the Sturbridge Show had several hundred? M1 Garand stocks for sale @ $50 a pop. Also 100+ M1 butt plates and butt plate screws for sale. Most of the stocks appeared to be original hardwood stocks but many appeared to be chemically stripped and lacked cartouches.
A few had proof marks 'P', an many of the unstripped stocks had large unusual white rack? Marks on the check side of the stock. If you are looking for an original SA or IH stock not the place to look.Anyone know the story behind this?
